| MOMMY MOMENT: One thing I have found (and find quite annoying) is that most commercial establishments who have any type of changing station for infants, do not keep them up for supplies or cleanliness. Always remember to bring everything you will need with this in mind, or you may have a dreadful experience the next time you have to stop for a diaper change. Having some form of padding to place under your changing pad will help older babies who are more set in their ways and know how things should be, feel more comfortable than just laying flat on a hard plastic surface with only a thin change pad that offers no padding or support. |

As many times a day as a baby needs his diaper changed, it becomes less that a fun task when they begin rolling over, and decide that change time is the perfect time to test out their freedom, and they try to take off on you. Not only is this frustrating, it can be very unsafe.
The maker of Hug 'n' Hold has found a solution! A mother herself, she learned by experience what changing a wiggly baby was all about, and has come up with an ingenious way to solve this universal problem. By simply attaching the Hug 'n' Hold to the change table, then placing baby in this safe and comfortable vest, by simply folding over the velcro across the waist and around the shoulders, you have free hands to do your task and baby stays securely on the change table, with no fear of injury. CAUTION: Never leave a baby unattended, even with this on. That is not the purpose of this product. It is meant only to hold child in place for convenient and safe diaper changing. The Hug 'n' Hold is easy to take with you in the diaper bag. This is a great help, as public change tables are not a place we want our little ones maneuvering around, for safety and sanitation reasons. The Hug 'n' Hold is a perfect helpmate for you, and a method baby will tolerate even if they like to squirm and get away from you. When reviewing this product, I figured my baby would protest when using this, but actually there was no protest, and it simplified the process a lot. By keeping the vest attached to the home change table, it saves on having to set it up each time for use - then it is a simple slip on, velcro up operation that you can do one handed once you are used to it. Use of the Hug 'n' Hold is quite easy and fast, and it successfully does the job it is intended to do. | MOMMY MOMENT: Always be careful when you lay your baby on a raised surface for changing, be it at home or out on the town. They squirm so much and can roll without a moments notice. I personally know someone who fell off their change table. As an adult he is now unable to use one of his arms. This is minor compared to what could have happened. Please, don't turn your back or move away from them even for a moment. |

When I sat down with my 6 month old on my lap, to watch this video for the review,
I fully intended to be interrupted multiple times, have to pause and come
back to it, while tending to her needs. What I found was quite the contrary. I did not move the entire duration of the film, nor did she whimper, become distracted, or even play with the toy in her lap throughout the entire video. She was mesmerized, and I was thrilled! It was fun to watch her enjoy this video, and so much more than I expected her to. The few times I saw movements from her, they were when she was waving her arms in the air. When I heard sounds from her, it was when she was sounding like she was singing or was making other vocals directed at the video.
Scotty, I think we have us a hit! This video proclaims the ability to stimulate a child's imagination and activate their senses. With the use of images set to music and animation, it embarks on a journey of walking babies and toddlers through images such as farm animals, fruit, the alphabet and numbers, vehicles in motion, space, flowers, leaves, and enchanting shapes that move to the music and are shown on many backgrounds, which adds to the visual stimulation. Many of the musical pieces chosen for this video are ones you would expect to hear on a crib mobile, or other baby toys. While others were pieces unfamiliar, but beautiful and easy to listen to. What I found the most amusing myself, was the speed in which the pictures moved. They were not fast movements, but ones that glided over the screen, in a slow and even pace that kept her attention excellently. As the pictures glide across the screen, many times you will notice that the pictures change colors, or add on multiple pictures of the same type, with different colors. Other times, you will find there are many of the same character and then one by one they disappear, until the scene changes to the next object. Many of the characters in the video have smiling faces, which are always a fun favorite for babies. Black on white, blue on black, green on black ... many color contrasts that recapture the attention and keep baby glued to the scene being depicted. The length of the video is approximately 25 minutes, though I did not time it. It seemed to be a perfect length for keeping her attention, and was not so long that I became antsy to get up. I was enjoying watching her enjoy it so much. Knowing this will help her learn as she watches, and enable her to be more imaginative, are bonuses. This is an excellent video for her to watch at bedtime. It is soothing and mesmerizing and lulls her in to sleep mode by the beautiful soft music and gentle movements of the visual decor. While it stimulates the mind, it also offers a calming effect. The video goes off, and the jammies come on. It is now beddy bye time. Extensive research and consultation went into producing this film, and I can say as a mom who now turns this on a minimum of once per day for her baby, due to her long lasting enjoyment of it, their work has paid off. If you are a parent who seeks out ways to better invest in your child, their imagination, their education, and their enjoyment, I encourage you to try this video. Or, if you are a parent who needs something to capture baby's attention long enough for you to get dinner on the table, you too will benefit from adding this video to your video library. Our infant gave this DVD a rave applause into slumberland.
Turning it on at bedtime, proved to be a true success.
He sat there watching it quietly, and soon I found he was fast asleep.
I laid him down, leaving the DVD play and he stayed fast asleep.
This DVD is meant to be played when a child is going to sleep, so it continues on after they have fallen fast asleep. The calm, repetition of the music, softly playing the ABC song, in the same tone, while the graphics subtly change from cows jumping over the moon, while the moon sings to you, to fish jumping in the water, as the sun sings to you, on to stars twinkling in the sky, while they sing to you. All are singing the same song, in the same tone and voice, and while they sing, the letters appear on the screen in the forefront. It is a proven fact we can learn when hearing things in our sleep. It is also a proven fact that repetition is a great teacher. Combine the two, and you can see why this DVD has been such a hit. Now you can give your infant or child a head start on their learning, by using this tool, which they enjoy watching when awake, but can also learn with, when asleep. This is not a short, 10 minute DVD. It is long play. This allows the level of sound after baby or child has fallen asleep, to remain constant, which helps they get to the deep sleep cycle sooner, and not be disturbed by other noises around them. It creates a whitenoise effect, which is soothing. I highly recommend this DVD for those with infants and young children. This diaper bag works great, as a normal sized - normal functioning diaper bag. It doubles
as a large, expanded version, simply by unzipping the expansion portion. This allows you to

daycasre or an overnight stay at grandma's house. Whatever size, whatever your need - this bag
will handle the load.
The one minor setback I found with this bag, was the zipper would catch on the expansion portion from time to time. It seemed to be mainly because the material was new, and not yet pliable, but this did happen a few times when trying to close the expansion, during our review. Other than that one minor detail, we found this bag to be of great quality and a product that meets a need many bags just cannot meet. When you need more room, it is great to have an expansion that allows you to fit it all in, rather than having to use yet another bag to handle all of the needed items. This bag is made of soft plastic materials, is easy to wipe clean both inside and out and offers many pockets for safe keeping of your baby or personal items. A terrific bag for mom's with twins as well! When you have double the babies, you have double the items, so you need double the room! This bag will do it! These activities met with the ability to preteach them some language formations, makes this an all around awesome toy. This is a well designed and fun to have toy for any infant.
