Our baby has not been troubled with colic but occasionally awakens from his sleep because of twitching himself awake. With the help of this swaddling blanket, this has not been a problem. He is snug as a bug and falls fast asleep in my arms, only to remain asleep for longer periods when I lie him down for the night. I can tell after I have wrapped him and begin to do the night time ritual of rocking, he is so comfortable and relaxed, that he shows no effort whatsoever in falling right to sleep. (now if they could just invent something to put me to sleep this fast, we would be set!) The Amazing Miracle Blanket is so very soft. Baby Go To Sleep may prove to be the most helpful item you, as a new parent, could purchase, or be given, upon the birth of your new baby. I would consider this to be more of an entire sleep program for infants, than merely a cd with music. By combining the book, music cd, and software portion of the cd, you will have an excellent strategy to end the night time problems you may otherwise experience, if you have a baby who has a hard time falling asleep, either at times, or repeatedly. This technique has been used in hospital nurseries, as well as in the pediatric intensive care units around the country. Baby Go To Sleep is a cd with beautiful classic nursery songs, that have a subtle heartbeat as the rhythm of the songs being played. The Baby Go To Sleep CD has been used in over 8000 hospitals & special care centers nationwide. This cd not only helps a baby calm down to the music, but offers the heartbeat, which is known to transition a baby to sleep easily. I am one who likes to blend this cd with rocking my little one, when she is real fussy. I have found that she truly does ease into sleep mode when I play this cd and rock her. While she is not colicky, she does have nights that she is just wound up so tight she does not want to calm down and go to sleep. When I play this cd, she knows it is time for nighty-night and will lye back in my arms and cuddle up. Then when she is ready for sleep, I place her in her crib, turn the cd on in her room, and she is off to dreamland in no time. A nice bonus to this cd, is it not only plays the beautiful heartbeat music, but if you place the same cd into your PC cd drive, it has a lot of helpful information you can utilize. The Crib Tent II is the next generation of a great product.
The Crib Tent II adds the convenience of a soft netting that completely encapsulates the crib rails, so baby items are not able to get tangled in the rails or be lost through them. This feature also keeps baby from getting his arms or legs caught between the bars. The Crib Tent is an awesome product for keeping baby safe. As your infant grows older, they will be able to stand up in the crib and many soon learn to escape by climbing over the rails. This is a nightmare for parents and a potential hazard for the infant. Many parents reach desperation at this time, as the infant is too small for a toddler bed but climbing out of the crib is unsafe, so parents are left not knowing what to do. The Crib Tent solves this problem, by keeping the baby safe inside, with no way of escape. It is sturdy enough that one does not need to fear baby getting tangled in it, and you can then rest at ease that your baby will not be able to be an escape artist. The Crib Tent is also great for keeping pets away from the baby. Cats especially become curious of infants and are drawn to the smell of formula. This is a risky combination, as pets have been known to suffocate babies by laying on them, blocking air passages when they do. The Crib Tent keeps animals and pests out of the crib, so baby can sleep soundly and you can rest assured, knowing your baby is out of harms way. We found the Crib Tent to be easy to attach to the crib. It is claimed to work on all standard crib types. Assembly took about 15 minutes following their easy to follow instructions. We were able to use our normal crib set that includes a bumper pad, and were able to use our larger than standard crib mattress with it as well. The zipper is not silent, so when you first begin using this product, you may find the baby will need to get used to the sound before they are not disturbed by the zipping noise they are not accustomed to. You will also find that changing the crib sheets is a bit more difficult, because you now have to work within the confines of the netting to lift the mattress. For this reason you may wish to use the QuickZip sheet sets (available at cloudsandstars.com), which allows you to change the sheets without lifting the mattress. You will also find that you will be limited to the types and sizes of crib toys you can use with the Crib Tent in place, as there is now a netting between the crib and the rails, making attachment of some toys impossible. However ... We find these to be very small in comparison to the safety of our baby and have found the Crib Tent to be a huge relief to our concerns. When one weighs the drawbacks to the convenience and safety this product offers, then there truly is no comparison. If you are purchasing this great product for the reasons it was made for, you will not mind the minor inconveniences that go along with it. There truly is no way for the maker to do away with these drawbacks and still maintain the integrity and safety features of this product. This is a product that will keep baby safe and sound while you rest peacefully. It is easy to use, easy to care for and one that you will appreciate for the first 3 years of babies life or until they go into a toddler bed. I have found the Graco Aspen 3-in-1 Crib with Trundle Drawer to be a wonderful addition for any nursery. Made of real alder, its honey tone finish adds a beautiful touch. The Aspen 3-in-1 Crib offers functionality and safety. With its solid construction being paramount in my mind for safety, it also offers one hand side release, and 4 position mattress support. Graco has also added the feature of versatility in its design. The Aspen 3-in-1 is easily converted to a toddler bed, when the child reaches the age a bed is more suitable for their needs. Simply removing one side rail and adding two shorter safety rails, makes this a perfect bed for your toddler and small child. For this stage you use the crib mattress. Then, once they have outgrown that stage, you can then use it as a headboard for a twin bed, by purchasing a frame and mattress for this size option. These features will save you more than the crib will cost, by offering you the essentials of 3 beds in one. I love the added trundle drawer that rolls underneath the crib. This is great for holding crib bedding so it is handy when you need to change the crib. Would also be great to hold bedtime toys / books when you convert it to a toddler bed. The drawer matches the wood tone of the crib and is perfectly sized to roll freely in and out. It took us about 1 hour to put this crib together, following the step by step instructions provided. All parts and tools needed were included. The instructions were clear and precise and it went together easily, without a hitch. A great look, a great piece of furniture, and a great price tag all combined make this one of the best offers I have seen when purchasing a crib. Because this is made from real wood, they warn inside the packaging that one may find the grain or color tone to differ a bit between pieces. However, we found a beautiful tone all the way through and no blemishes were visible. It happens to every parent at some point. Either your baby develops colic, or
has a few nights here and there when sleep just does not come easy for him.
He will toss and turn, fuss and fret, and you are left feeling tired, frustrated, tired, concerned, tired, fretful, tired, and helpless. Did I mention tired? Back in the days gone by, parents were known to set the infant seat on the washer, to calm a baby to sleep. Some would place baby in the crib, and begin vacuuming, to get junior to wander off to sleep. Other parents have told of placing the baby in the carseat and going for a drive, to get their baby to sleep. Say goodbye to inconvenience. Now the problem can be solved, without leaving the baby in some unsafe place, or having to waste gas taking a drive. This CD is a great whitenoise solution to sleep deprivation. I tried this with my own infant. I am not one to report something I have not seen. I can speak with 100% honesty in saying prior to the first track completing, my infant was asleep. I continued to rock, until the track changed. I wanted to see how smoothly it would make the transition, to see if the change in whitenoise would awaken baby. It did not. The change was from the sound of a clothes dryer, to a hair dryer. There was not even a budge. The CD also includes the following tracks. Washing machine, Vacuum cleaner, Washer and Dryer combination, and Whitenoise plain wrap. What I would advise, would be to find the one your baby adapts to the best and responds to by going to sleep. Then choose this as a track to REPEAT, on your CD player. This will ensure they are into a heavy sleep pattern in no time. Then, when other noises happen around them, they will not awaken so easily. Have you ever walked into a home with a new baby and you hear "Shhhhhh! Baby is asleep!" ...I have encountered this so many times, and my first thought is always "Ok, what? Does life stop?" Especially if you have other children, you know how impossible it is to maintain a quiet home, every time baby is asleep. This makes no sense and is not needed. Whitenoise enables a baby to sleep through noises easily, and without budging. I have always maintained a normal household noise level when my children have slept. I will even vacuum under their crib when they are asleep for a nap, and they will sleep right through it. This is because I have always allowed them to fall asleep without silence. It has been proven time and time again, that certain things help with colic. Whitenoise and swaddling have been the two I have seen work time and time again and truly believe in. No one knows the exact cause of colic, and no one has an exact science cure. However, when there are methods that have been shown to work again, and again - these are the ones I suggest to parents who ask. This CD uses the whitenoise method and WILL help. It will also help with the baby who is not colicky but is simply having a bad night and is unable to fall asleep easily on their own. Also, if you are a daysleeper, or just have a hard time falling asleep, you may find this will even help you. Whitenoise therapy is used on infants, children, and adults. Just remember, if you use it, be sure to share with baby when it is time for him to go to sleep. Don't lose hope! Colic does end, and those endless, sleepless nights do not last forever. The KinderKozy is very practical and easy to use in so many ways, it is hard at times to pinpoint ones favorite aspect of the product. I would have to say, after repeated use of this product, the one thing that stands out in my mind, as being so handy, is the ease of putting it on my baby. Because it is so easy, I am able to place this on without awaking my little one. As all new mothers know, this is so vital, when trying to ensure baby and you get a good night sleep. Once you have them asleep, you in no way want to start all over in the process. So, by having a product such as KinderKozy, to help in this process, it will make for a much more sleep filled week. Likewise, it is easy to undo, when baby needs changed. I have successfully been able to accomplish this task while baby remains asleep as well. (THANK YOU BABY EMPORIO!)
The KinderKozy is so soft. Made of 100% polyester, it is soft to the touch and warm for baby to retire in. No need for heavy blankets when using this one. It will fulfill the purpose of keeping baby warm with no loose blankets in the crib. Another feature which is nice, is the fact it has snaps on the shoulder portion, which adjust for a growing baby. No more buying multiple sizes, this one will fit from 2-3 months, on up to 9 months or more, depending on the size and growth rate of your infant. Last but not least, the other aspect that stands out in my mind is the fact that the bottom portion is wide enough that eventhough it does not have legs built in, it allows for easy use in a car seat or stroller. You can still strap them in, without infringing on their movements. This makes it nice when you have to go out on a chilly night, just before bedtime. Now you can have them ready to place in the crib the second you get home, without having to remove and replace articles of clothing to do so. I have washed my KinderKozy many times, and always have pleasant results when it comes out of the dryer. It has been used and used, and still looks and feels like new. This set includes the Quilt, 4-Sided Bumper, Jersey Knit Fitted Crib Sheet, and Dust Ruffle. The quilt is very soft and thick for added warmth. The 4 sided bumper pad is also quite thick, and ties on easily to the crib rails. A nice touch to this piece is the way the blocks match the blocks on the quilt. This adds a depth of richness not often seen in a nursery crib set of this economical price range. The Dust Ruffle is a blue gingham print and goes elegantly with this set. The sheet is yellow and comes either with animal print or plain, depending on the set.
This set shows beautifully on the crib. The quilt fits nicely without having to be tucked in, so the crib is made up without a lot of fuss. The dust ruffle lays over the bottom rail of the crib, under the mattress, so it is easy to place. The 4 sided bumper ties on to the crib rails, stays firmly in place, and does not come dislodged, posing a threat to the infant like many do. The crib sheet fits a normal crib mattress snugly and is easy to place on the mattress and remove. This set goes perfect in a boys or girls nursery. It adds a nice touch of elegance to the look of the room and will remain in good showing condition for the length of use. The main color is blue, with touches of yellow and other pastel colors mixed in. In each of the pictures of animals, it shows the baby animal with its mama. The pictures are embroidered and appliqued animals in pairs. A very nice addition to any decor, but works well with animal or noah's ark themes. The quilt is large enough to be used as a floortime blanket, or for use on a toddlers bed, when they outgrow the crib. This is a wonderful quilt that you will enjoy for years to come. A high quality set that you and baby will enjoy. You will enjoy it for the ease of care it requires and for the comfort it brings to your baby. Your baby will enjoy it for the good night's sleep it will bring and he or she will also enjoy the pictures as they reach the age to notice such things. This set is very well made, both in the fine fabric chosen and the craftsmanship that is evident throughout. It will be long lasting and hold up to a lot of use. It washes nicely in warm water and is advised to be dried on the tumble dry setting. The colors will not fade and you will not notice any shrinkage when following their instructions. The Snuggle Nest is an absolutely awesome product I am so happy to have had the pleasure of reviewing. Our infant is one that likes to be close by you. If you want sleep then she must be on you or next to you. If this is not the case, then she sleeps for moments, not minutes or hours. When she was on the way we did the usual of purchasing a crib, a bassinet etc. What we found once she was here, is that she did not like either one. We were too far away and she sensed it even when asleep. She would lie down fast asleep and moments later be awake and crying. Once we would pick her up and hold her close or lay her next to us, she would be fast asleep and soundly. What we found by reading what other parents have to say of newborns, is that we are not alone. Many infants have separationg anxiety and long to be next to mom and/or dad to get the comfort and security they need for sound sleeping. The only problem is I never felt having her in bed with us was a very safe route. What if we rolled over on her, or she got covered by the blankets etc.? This did not seem safe for her. Then came the Snuggle Nest to review. WOW! The answer had arrived! Now she can sleep next to us, know we are there, within arms reach and we have no fears of harm coming to her in the process. This is GREAT! The Snuggle Nest comes fully assembled. The only thing to do is to attach the clip on light and you and baby are set. We placed it in between us and have had sweet sleep ever since. When she wakes up, she is right there, easy to pick up or pat her back and she seems totally content knowing mom and dad are there. The foam mattress is waterproof. This is very handy with a new one, as they can soak through if they sleep very long. They can also spit up. Now you have no worries of ruining the mattress because it will easily wash clean and will not become stained from normal baby life. The liner is very sturdy so you can rest assured it will standup to constant use and keep baby safely where they are intended to be. It will not collapse and cause a danger to the infant. The sheets for this product are an envelope design, so they tuck away underneath which makes it safer for baby as they will not become loose or tangled when in use. Replacement sheets are available for a very modest price as well. Of course, you can always use bassinet sheets and ensure you have them tucked away safely underneath the mattress. This is helpful if you have bassinet sheets handy but rest assured replacements for the Snuggle Nest are just as modestly priced as purchasing new bassinet sheets, so this can help you in deciding which to use. As we all know the SIDS Foundation suggests placing our infants on their back to sleep. This has greatly reduced the number of SIDS deaths in the USA since this campaign began. For this reason, the makers of the Snuggle Nest have incorporated sleep positioners in the Snuggle Nest. This allows you to rest assured your baby is in the best position for sleeping and will not turn over without you knowing. These are made of soft and breathable material and are very well made. They securely attach to the mattress of the Snuggle Nest with a wraparound feature. This keeps them perfectly in place as you position them to the best spot for your infant. They can be readjusted as the baby grows. The side panels on the Snuggle Nest are made of breathable mesh panels. This allows for the maximum air flow to keep baby safe. Now there is no fear accompanying a baby coming to rest near the side of the bed, as you will know they will not be breathing recycled air but will receive fresh air through the side panels. The Snuggle Nest also features a small, low glow light that attaches to the side of the bed. This is perfect when baby may begin to fuss or when you just want to check on her. Now you can turn this on by simply pushing on the light up portion and can check in to see all is well. The light is one that has a soft glow that will not wake the infant when turning it on. You will be able to see her but she will not mind. This is battery operated and can be removed or repositioned easily. This product is an absolute dream come true for new parents. Especially if you are nursing your infant. Now you do not have to get out of bed everytime baby is hungry. Simply roll over, turn on the little light and baby is there for you to tend to. No hassle. Mothers who have had C sections will greatly love the added benefit of having baby close and not having to climb out of bed repeatedly through the night. Please note that the makers of the Snuggle Nest caution us not to use the Snuggle Nest once baby is able to push themself up or roll over. So many parents spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a crib and then spend $50 on the mattress and feel they have done well. Yet we as adults spend hundreds on our beds and many times well over a thousand or two on our mattress. Do you see the backward comparison here? Our babies need as much or more support in a mattress than we as adults do, because their bones are very soft and pliable for the first stages. Those delicate bones need to have the support to firm up properly.
