This book will be a lifesaver for the new mom who has not yet experienced the world of nursing a newborn.
Even when we take classes on the subject there is so much left to the unknown that we will discover and this can be scary.
Andi Silverman has been there, as the mother of two young children. She wrote this book to help others discover what she
wished she has known when it all began.
I like the layout of the book. It is well written and well organized. By using two colors of print it is easy to peruse thru and find the areas you wish to cover, rather than having to read it page by page if you want the information quickly. However, I do suggest reading it cover to cover prior to the birth of your baby, so you are as well prepared as possible, then refer back to it as needed.
Andi covers everything from starting out, to how your partner can help in the process. She covers everything from dirty diapers to sex in between.
There are over 150 pages of great helpful tips and advice in this book, along with references to multiple websites and a helpful index to find what you need in a heartbeat.
If breastfeeding sounds like a daunting task that you are unsure of ... this is a great book to set your mind at ease to show you that you can do it.
This is an adorable, affordable, and adaptable gift to give. The Puppy Dog Treasure Pocket a-door-nimal serves so many functions, starting with being a great pregnancy countdown calendar. Once baby arrives, change the information displayed using the pen provided, and write in baby's birth announcement and hang it on the hospital door. Once you are home it makes a great doorhanger to announce when baby is sleeping or when you wish to not be disturbed. Then simply remove the heart shaped write on board and it makes a perfect playtime pal as a sweet and plush animal that is soft and cuddly. As baby grows up, he will find many uses for the handy treasure pocket, including but not limited to a perfect place to hold his tooth for the tooth fairy.
The adoornimals are well made and will last long past the tooth losing years. I love the special added touches that have been added and the quality is supreme.
This is a special gift to give as well as being great to purchase for your own child. It is so hard to find that special unique something that you know will not duplicate what someone else is giving. This will surpass your expectations and thrill the recipient.
Another fun idea for these is that bear lover, puppy lover etc. will find this a fun gift for their office or home to display their messages on the board.
There is no right or wrong age for an adoornimal; they will be cherished by all.
There are 8 styles to choose from, all including the dry erase board and marker pen. You will find the following styles by visiting the adoornimals website:
Pink Bear, Blue Bear, Puppy, Monkey, Lamb, Dinosaur, Blue trim Frog, Pink trim Frog. They range in size from 17-18" in height. The puppy dog we are featuring is 17" high.
During pregnancy, one of the most monitored things by a mother-to-be is the kicking of her unborn infant.
Later in pregnancy this is used as a means of assuring baby is thriving and all is well. Feeling those movements inside are heartwarming, and bring a sense of relief to a mother who sometimes wonders if all is well inside. Warnings are given to expectant mothers, to report a lack of movement to their doctor, as this can be a sign of pending problems, and catching it early may help in reducing the chances of stillbirth.
I found when I would call in to the doctor about any concerns I had, they would always ask if I had felt movement and how many movements in a given timeframe (usually one hour) I had felt. Without a tool like kickTrack, this can be hard to answer. You can guess, but unless you have written down each movement and the time, it can make you feel like you are not prepared for the question, because your response is merely a guess. {ie: "I would say about 3 movements in the last hour" ...) With kickTrak, you have an easy method to monitor and track movements, and will be able to give a completely accurate report when asked. When using kickTrak you will also be more mindful of the movements that you may otherwise not even notice, because you are not paying close attention. With kickTrak you can easily monitor, review, and record the movements of your baby and feel assured all is well, or be alerted early if there are any signs for concern.
kickTrak is small, lightweight, portable and easy to use. With a simple push of a button you record movement. kickTrak then stores and recalls the last 10 kick count sessions. Also provided are the "tracker" which helps you track the progress of your pregnancy in weeks and days, and a countdown calendar for the last 99 days of pregnancy, which lets you know at a glance how many days there are to go until you meet your new bundle of joy. When that special time comes, you can also use the KickTrak to time your contractions.
kickTrak is one of those things that I think every mother-to-be should have. I say this because it makes things simple, offers reassurance and awareness, and because it is so easy to use it will be something you use and rely on, rather than just one of those things you buy with good intentions but never use. You WILL use this and will be given peace of mind when doing so.
I think most parents have been there at some point, and there is nothing more scary ... You go to give your child a dose of their medication and then wonder - "Oh my, what time did I give her the last dose?" Now you have a dilemma. If you give it to her and it is too soon you risk overdosing, but if you wait too long for the next dose, that is not good either ... So, what do you do? ... You purchase a Dose Keeper before the next time you have to give her antibiotics, or pain reliever, or cough medicine, etc.
Dose Keeper is absolutely terrific! I am so happy to share this one with you, because it is so practical, convenient, easy to use, affordable,
and saves you a lot of worry and wonder when medicating your children, those that you care for, or yourself.
This literally could be a lifesaver! Dose Keeper can be used by anyone, at any age. Great for singles, parents, the elderly, and those who are caregivers. Is there simply a better way to keep accurate track of medications? I have not found one. This fits right on the bottle, and you simply jot down the time of the last dose. When you finish the medication, simply remove Dose Keeper from that bottle and place it on the next bottle you use. It comes with a handy strap that fits around any medication bottle, a pad that has a pre-printed time chart on it to fill in, and a small pencil to use, keeping everything you need right there on the medication bottle, which makes it hard to forget, instead of hard to remember!
Dose Keeper comes in multiple colors to choose from.
